Think about your mask;
think about everything that you have told no one,
and everything that you have told everyone.
Think about people you told nothing to,
people you shared everything with.
Why do you think you are alone?
What makes you think that everyone else is less complex than you?
We all wear masks.
We are all fighting the lonely battles together.

But all I seem capable of is thinking and thinking
And saying see, I am happy now.
I don’t know how to turn happiness into metaphors
“I stand in a whirlpool watching the world blur around me”
“The songs stained by my memories”
“Testament to the death of life”
I am content.
What more is there to say
Happiness is the poem

I am out here with lanterns looking
to get lost enough that I have found
myself by now, and hoping
one of these overgrown paths
leads to places unknown,
to fields where I may sow new growth
I have been sheltered from growth
It is hard when there is someone always looking,
Watching for you to stumble over the unknown
I am bringing myself out into the rain of hoping,
Finding faith in my true capacity for growth
For mapping out my own paths
The self is Found in the unknown.
We are all walking unmarked Paths, always hoping
They may bring the Growth for which we are looking
